Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

It was our family’s first time eating here. First thing, customer service was top tier. The young ladies did a fantastic job serving our party of 7. They were very attentive and polite. The food was delicious too! We ordered the fried green tomatoes, fried okra and fried pickles for all of to try! My favorite would be the fried tomatoes. We had fried chicken, greens, Mac & cheese, chicken tenders and fries, chicken sandwiches, and another chicken plate with baked beans and potato salad. Overall, it was a good experience, and we would return.

Greeted when we walked in. Sit anywhere type of deal. Wonderful atmosphere. Great place to eat. They take care of you. Cute little souvenir cup. Delicious sweet tea (had like 4 refills), great crisp, juicy, perfectly seasoned white and dark meat pieces. Loved the fried okra! Good greens and slaw. Beans brought back childhood memories. Saved room for dessert. Their coconut pie is beautifully made. The only mistake I made was ordering the warmed up pecan pie without ice-cream!

Thank you to the server who made us aware that they use peanut oil to fry their foods. Our dear friend would have most likely ended up in a hospital, had it not been for the kind server, . My husband and I love your fried chicken. Heads up to the person, who followed protocol and to the manager who cares about the patrons.

I love fried chicken so had to try out Gus's. First time here so pretty excited. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a nice hello. The place looked really clean. Our server was Lele, great young lady, explained how the chicken is prepared and the wait time, since all chicken is made to order. We started out with some ice-tea and it was nice and refreshing. We placed our order and since it takes about 15-20 minutes I took a walk around. They have pretty good wall of history and how the owners started. They also have a variety of beer. Went to the restroom to wash my hands and that also was super clean. We had ordered the special 4 pcs of chicken and 2 sides. My sides were the coleslaw and mac n cheese. My wife also had the coleslaw but with baked beans. I got say the mac was super cheesy and warm, coleslaw was just right on the dressings. Wow now the chicken it was not only delicious but super crunchy, right amount of spice and my favorite part piping hot. So definitely come visit Gus's, they have a few locations in the Phoenix area. Sorry about the picture of just the bones but that's how much I enjoyed my meal and again thank you Lele for your great service and to the kitchen staff.

Omg, I keep forgetting to review this place, as it was my first time here! I was here March 22nd, 2025: I had KYLE (haha so glad I took a picture of my receipts, as I tend to forget names and I lose my receipts), and he was great!! I will attach the receipt, as it shows what I had. I also took pictures of the menu, just so others know what’s on it, instead of having to wait to see it in person. I liked the simplicity of it, literally tasted like homemade everything! It all evened itself out. I also used hot sauce from some sort of green peppers... can’t remember what they’re called, but it was delish! I had tea with lemon and sugar, and I for to keep the cup! (Bring the cup in and you get .50 off, read the menu in the pic lol) When I was fished, Kyle had asked if I wanted desert. I was really full, but I saw they had chocolate *something* so he told me the Chocolate Chess Pie was really good, especially warmed up, and if I was feeling for ice cream, it was great with that on top of it being warmed up, too. I passed on the ice cream (this time) and took his word and ordered it. SO GLAD I DID, IT WAS BY FAR SO DANG DELICIOUS!!!!!

Lele was my server very nice and welcoming. The food was amazing and the sweet tea was fire. The General Manager even came up and made sure I felt welcome there. Will definitely be back.

Had Gus’s chicken last year at Barrett Jackson and I really enjoyed it and just so happen to be shopping on Ray Rd and here they were.... Just like I remembered juicy, flavorful chicken, crispy starters(had all 3) And John M the brand ambassador was there and he shared the history and stories about Gus’s. We are looking forward to stopping at other locations on our travels.

Every single thing we had was delicious! The breading and freshness of the chicken is stellar. They do fried pickles the right way. Get the Greens, you won’t be disappointed. I promise. I highly recommend stopping in!
